Title: How many liters of hydrogen
Post by: oceanmd on March 10, 2008, 09:38:16 PM
How many liters of hydrogen gas at 25 degrees C and 98.3 kPa when 38.2 g of Zn reacts with HCL?
Zn + 2HCl = Zn Cl2 + H2
My solution:
mass-to-mole converstion: 38.2 g Zn = 0.584 mol Zn
mole-to-mole conversion: 0.584 mol Zn = 0.584 mol H2
V = nRT /P
V = 0.584 x 8.314 x 298 /98.3 = 14.72 L H2

Is this correct? Thank you.
