Guys,
I am trying to complete a question at the moment regarding the state change from a compressed gas. As the gas leaves the cylinder in a rush it makes the point of release from the cylinder very cold. Why? My guess on this is that it absorbs the heat around it as the energy is used to change the compressed gas (from a liquid form) to a gas. As much as I think I can't justify that theory and am very confused. Does anyone else have any ideas?
