Title: viscosity and refractive index of THF/ACN mixture for DLS scattering
Post by: ohi1244 on March 19, 2024, 01:09:01 PM
Hi all,

I was looking for the viscosity and refractive index data of the THF/ACN mixture to do DLS scattering. I checked online but did not find anything. Can anyone have any texts about these two binary solvent mixtures and can share hereby?

Thanks

Might need to do the measurements yourself... luckily this is a quick and easy instrument to use.

Refractive index is no effort at all to measure, just use a refractometer, I'm sure one exists in your department, or it is not so expensive to get.

Viscosity could be trickier for something so low viscous, depends what instruments or tools you have available?

This is a maybe.... Viscosity and RI of THF/ACN with DLA scattering can also be used for gpc/ sec for different polymers. In which case you would have a full molecular wt/ molecular wt distribution analysis to do.  If this is the path you are heading down, please let me know.  Otherwise, sorry.
