Title: 3-cyano-4-chloropyridine synthesis
Post by: chengyang79 on June 21, 2007, 10:48:47 AM
I don't know whether the synthesis scheme of 3-cyano-4-chloropyridine wich list below is correct.

Who can tell me an effective method?

I can't see your scheme at the minute, may try and change computer later...

But how about e.g. dehydration of nicotinamide with POCl3or similar? This may chlorinate the ring as well, but I'm not sure of regioselectivity - probably more likely at the 6-position due to sterics..?
