After a few years being hiatus from my phd program I thought about more of an education related degree.
I was hoping for some opinions on Phd in Chem Ed.

Chem Ed is not a chemistry degree. You have to be ready to use skill sets derived from fields like psychology and traditional education. It may be more foreign than might expect.

A few places do have a PhD in Chem Ed. You may want to check out UIUC.

what do you plan on doing with it? I'm sure it's useful if you want to be a lecturer but past that i imagine your options are limited. Traditional chemistry PhDs are having a hard enough time finding jobs as it is already. In the next 5 years its likely to get worse.
