does anyone here know about how tar is formed when sugars are subjected to alkaline solutions??i've read that solutions of sugars, might it be a mono or poly, undergo coloration (yellow-brown) when in alkaline environment. and it said that the coloration is an evidence of the formation of tar. can anyone help me??pls...
