Title: Morality.. Does anyone know how to do this
Post by: dmblove26 on February 09, 2014, 08:46:19 PM
1)calculate the morality of a solution containing 130.0 grams of NaOH in 250.0 mL of solution.

2) Calculate molarity of a solution prepared when 125 mL of the NaOH solution in question #1 above is diluted to a final volume of 425 mL.

1) I think you mean Molality** and its (moles of the solute)/( kg's of Solvent)
And since there is no mention of solvent it is safe to assume it is Water which conveniently 1 g/mL so 250 mL would equal dot dot dot. you can do the rest

2) and and molarity is Moles per liter / Liters of solution so you would find the molarity of the first one and then use

C1V1 = C2V2 where C = concentration (in this case molarity) and V = volume of before and after hence V1 and V2

Morality is Philosophy not Chemistry ;) unless its some obscure term i haven't came across yet in which case im excited to learn the meaning as well.

**edit** Perhaps the first question was a typo and they were asking for the molarity too.
