Question about the boiling point elevation equation
« on: June 08, 2019, 08:48:07 PM »
the equation would be

ΔT= Kb . molality . I

I have this problem where im asked to calculate the mass of solute based on that formula, im given T and kb, but to my understanding the units of Kb are °C/molality, which cancels out with the m of the equation, so can't get the mass. Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong? classic case of teacher not explaining s#*$ so i have to learn in on my own

I believe you must be confused about something as nothing cancels out the way you think it does. Can you elaborate and give an example of what you mean?

In general: just solve for molality. It will have correct units once calculated.
