I'm doing a GC-MS/MS of some analytes highly prone to oxidation. In a published procedure, BHA is added to a real sample prior to purification with SPE, but in this case the samples are aqueous and BHA is insoluble in water. I tried to slightly heat the sample to dissolve BHA, but the sample partially degrades. Ultrasound also didn't help much.
Are there any antioxidants/scavengers that could be used as an alternative to BHA? They must be water-soluble, stable between pH 3-10 and GC-"friendly", these criteria are unavoidable...
