Nacl boiling point
« on: February 28, 2020, 01:48:55 PM »
What does it mean when NaCl has a boiling point of 1465 °C ?

Is that the temperature to melt solid NaCl? How about NaCl aq or diluted?

The temperature for melting would be the melting point. I'm assuming the boiling point is the temperature at which molten NaCl turns into a gas.

How about we cooked and put NaCl, and the NaCl melting ? While the melting point of NaCl is 800C

What do you want ask?

Almost every material has a melting point and a boiling point.

Water 0° melting point and 100°  C boiling point
NaCl 800° melting point and 1465°C boiling point.

What does it mean when NaCl has a boiling point of 1465 °C ?

NaCl is liquid above 801°C. If you continue heating, at 1465°C it boils under 1 atmosphere pressure.

NaCl has a true boiling point. Some other compounds decompose before they boil.

So, what happen to NaCl when we put in 100C boiling water? NaCl dissolves? But not melting...?

NaCl is salt, then always dissociates in water and dissolves up to about 40 g /100 mL of water at this temperature.
