If you add calciumhydrogencarbonate. Gypsum will be formed and you have it back.Na2SO4 + Ca(HCO3)2 => CaSO4 + 2 NaHCO3

But you also can absorb the SO2 directly on calciumcarbonate. No sodium(hydrogen)carbonate necessary.
