Which compound is more soluble in water?
« on: March 23, 2020, 01:21:37 PM »
Hi!

So for an assignment I need to explain why HCl is more soluble than SO2, and why SO2 is more soluble than H2S in water. Can someone explain why this is?

What kind of reaction take place by dissolving these compounds.

H2S + H2O ---> HS + H3O
SO2 + H2O ---> H + HSO3
HCl + H2O → H3O + Cl

So how do I know how soluble these compounds are using these reactions?
