Which of these have hydrogen bonding?
« on: April 07, 2020, 07:37:10 PM »
a) NH3 and O2
b) NH3 and CH4
c) NH3 and H2
d) H2O and CH3OH
e) NH3 and H2O

I'm really confused here since I thought hydrogen bonds only formed between two or more molecules with the same structure, but here it's asking me to compare different molecules.

Also, could you draw one of those bonds? Not sure how to do that, either.

Hydrogen bonds can easily form between two unlike molecules.  What do you know about hydrogen bonds and lone pairs of electrons?
