Need help with this spectra please!
« on: April 14, 2020, 07:23:48 PM »
Can someone help explain the proton NMR spectra for benzoic acid? I have one I'm trying to analyze but I really don't get the splitting patters, integration or which peak belongs to which hydrogen. Would someone be able to explain the theoretical values and which hydrogen would absorb where. It won't let me upload the picture of the spectra here, but even if there's anyway someone could explain the theoretical spectra to me then maybe I can apply it. There isn't a peak at 10 or higher for the carboxylic acid hydrogen so the hint I was given was that it could have exchanged with D20. Solvent used was ethanol. Thanks!
