Hey y'all!
After much deliberation and though, I have decided that this question is difficult enough and has enough merit to constitute a post on this website. As I am studying diligently for my upcoming AP Chemistry exam in the bathroom (gotta be ready for anything even in the most uncommon situations), I stumble upon this question. The question asks about two separate isomers of hexane: n-Hexane and neohexane, and after asking my own AP Chemistry teacher about this question and her getting it wrong, I am scared whether something this difficult would come up on the exam. This question is from the AP Chemistry Beta on the Khan Academy quiz over IMFs. Please *delete me* Thanks so much! The explanation for the correct answer is also attached, but I do not know how one would arrive to this reasoning. Adding an explanation of the fundamental IMFs of organic isomers would also be extremely helpful in a broader context. Thanks again for some much needed help.
Sincerely,
A distraught chemistry hopeful
