If you don't have chemical experience then you will also have a problem with protein isolation.
Proteins are hydrolyzed by heating with 1 M HCl in a sealed glass ampoule immersed in boiling water for several hours (~10 or more).

Ideally, the acid should be free of oxidizing impurities, and the acid/protein mixture is put through cycles of freezing, applying a vacuum, and thawing to remove oxygen.
