Hi all, new forum user here.
I would like to color some stainless steel by anodization for my school project.
After reading through some research articles, I found that they use a common electrolyte which consist of the combination of H2SO4 and CrO3 in a concentration ratio of around 2:1
The problem is that I cannot buy Chromium trioxide due to the restriction in my country.
What is the use of CrO3 in anodizing stainless steel? Could anyone provide some suggestions for my situation that I can anodize stainless steel without direct access of CrO3? Coloring through heating would be my last option
Thank you
