Calcium carbonate reacts with sulfur dioxide and oxygen
2CaCO3 + 2SO2 + O2 → 2CaSO4 + 2CO2
Personally, I have thought about using the Gibbs free energy, but this would only give me the maximum amount of non-expansion work that can be extracted from a thermodynamically closed system.
I am more interested in finding how if more/less Calcium sulfate (CaSO4) is produced.
If you have any idea, I will be happy to hear them and of course don't hesitate to give me the scientific reasoning behind it.
THANKS A LOT
