calculation of saturated solution preparation

hi all
How can I find how much solid I need to prepare a saturated solution on paper? Do I have to find the amount of solid just in the lab by solving more solid in water by heating experimentally ? or can I calculate it by Ksp or something else?
thanks in advance for your help

The only 100% sure method of making sure the solution is saturated is experimental (add the solid till it doesn't dissolve), but yes, Ksp and/or solubility tables are a good starting point to estimate how much solid you will need.
