Does efficiency of recrystalization change with relative concentration of impurity?
For the sake of the argument lets define efficiency of recrystalization as fraction of impurity removed. So if initially i had 99% AlSO4 (just an example) and 1% impurities and after recrystalization i have 99.5% AlSO4 and 0.5% impurities then recrystalization is 50% efficient.
In this case, would 2nd recrystalization (carried out under exact same conditions) still be 50% efficient and produce a 99.75% pure AlSO4 or would the 2nd recrystalization efficiency differ from 50% since relative fractions of compound and impurities are now 199:1 not 99:1 lite it was in 1st step?
