We did an experiment to estimate the isoelectric point of Casein by pH/Turbidity Titration.
In the practical we made up solutions of 9ml using different volumes of acid and distilled water. Here are 3 examples; it's been a long time since I've done this and would really appreciate help with the method.
A B C
Distilled Water 8.40 7.75 6.50
0.01M Acetic acid 0.60 1.25 2.50
PKa = 4.76
My initial reaction was to get the Ka via the Pka and then using that to get the [H+] that can then be used to get the pH but that method would give me the same answer for all of them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
