Hello, I'm trying to bronze some lithium,
the thing is I find it very hard to extract the lithium from the batteries, I find it very dangerous + impossible.
some batteries have gotten too hot from me so I discard them, & others I can't find the lithium in them. After peeling out the battery apart, I look for the lithium strip but don't find it (Maybe cause they're old ones).
Yeah I'm using lithium batteries, not the normal battery.

I basically add Amonium Nitrate + Lye + naphtha,

Would it be possible if I used something like Lithium Hydroxide for example ?
or some kind of lithium solution that wont aggressively react. Thanks

Kinda like looking for a strong acid that doesn't dissolve metals. High reactivity is one of the predominant properties of lithium.

Thanks for replying,

What I mean by that is usually when I add these materials up together a chemical reaction starts,
and the lithium's color starts to turn bronze.

(If you could tell me what that reaction is or what should I research, as obviously I'm new to Chemistry. )

The question is how do I do that same chemical reaction without lithium (metal),
could I use something different like a lithium solution or lithium hydroxide for example.

Do you want to bronze some other material than lithium? Its a bit unclear
