Molar Enthalpy of Combustion
« on: November 05, 2006, 03:37:55 PM »
Hey...i'm new here and in desperate need of help.

Molar enthalpy is pretty straightfoward...I understand it really well.  The thing is, I've been trying so hard to figure out how to do molar enthalpy of combustion..and i'm still where I started about 2 hours ago.

Basicall,y the question is calculate molar enthalpy of combustion of eicosane C20H42.  Information is given (mass(m) of water, C copper, m copper, Ti,Tf, m wax initial, m wax final).  Then, figure out if the reaction is exo or endo. I have no idea where to start...can anyone help me?

Thank you SO MUCH.
