Hi all, I am new here so bear with me... I have a question on my organic chemistry lab that reads, "According to Linus Pauling, why is 13-cis lycopene more stable than 7-cis lycopene? Explain." I know they are just isomers of one another, but I'm not really sure exactly why the 13-cis lycopene is more stable than the 7-cis lycopene. If someone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
By the way, this is a nice site you guys have here.
