Consider the reaction of group I elements with Cl2. What products do you expect? How are these different from the reaction of group II with Cl2? Group I with Br2? 

could you guys please look at this and please tell me how to start with the product.  I am a bit confused.

Both groups elements will form halides. Elementsts of the first group will react very vigorously.
