Neutron
« on: November 20, 2006, 05:42:32 AM »
What happens when a neutron is free (not in an atom). I've read that it has a half life of 15 minutes and it emits an electron, antineutrino and converts into a proton. So once it converts into a proton, does it become H+ or perhaps it takes the electron too and becomes just H (or H2)???

Thank you

I'll consider that as an answer that it becomes H (H2)
