I have CCl3-CHO , but I don't know how to make Chloral Hydrate from it .And I think , because :
CCl3-CH(OH)2 --->CCl3-CHO + H2O
=> We can't make CCl3-CH(OH) ?

in water chloral may be change to chloral hydrat. The process is easy ---> you can make it. because in molecular chloral have 3 chlo atom in C-alpha (C=O) so it can exist in CCl3-CH(OH)2
