Question about fluctuation theorem

Hi everyone! I’ve known that the fluctuation theorem is a new trend in thermodynamic. It more advance than non-equilibrium thermodynamic. Does anyone know about it? I want to know its applications and what is a subject I have to read in order to  understand it. Thanks.

The fluctuation theorem provides a mathematical justification of the second law of thermodynamics under these principles, and precisely defines the limitations of the applicability of that law to the microscopic realm of individual particle movements.

Many thanks for your help, Chiralic. But i've found these link. Because in my university, statistical mechanics is not well-teaching, so i don't know much about the background i have to own to understand it. Mathematical difficulties are not my problem, so does anyone suggest me some books or something like that? Thanks.
