what are the different between covalent polymeric soild & giant covalent ST. ???

what are the different between covalent polymeric soild & giant covalent structure ???
as i read these 2 term, i am so confused!!!
the book suggests that the example of  covalent polymeric soild are GeO2 , SnO2 , PbO2

and the example of giant covalent structure is SiO2 !!!
