can diamond be an insulator?

Hello guys!

I would like to ask if diamond can act as an insulator?  I know that diamond is the hardest naturally occurring substance, but I'm not sure if it can act as an insulator.

Hmm..inorganic chemists are quiet in this topic :-\

I read from Alberty moments ago that 'diamond is effectively an electrical insulator'.  Wah! :-[  I answered that this statement is not true in my GRE Chemistry exam.  I'm so sad... :-\  I thought diamond is the hardest known substance, but I'm not sure why it is qualified to become an effective insulator...

Would appreciate replies from u guys...
