once upon a time in the lab when i dropped conc HCl on the core or embryo of apricot seeds it turned blue in color.any one know what happened?help

Maybe you protonated the organic cyanides in the seed to HCN, and if there was just only a trace of Fe2+/3+ the colour changes to deep-blue...
