Hey all!

I'm doing chemistry right now, and it just occures to me that I have NO idea how to make the numbers fit.
For example, O2, how do I make the 2 go down, and be smaller? (sorry I can't be more specifik, I don't
know what it's called in english.

Otherwise I have to do this: H2 + O2 -> H2O....oh yeah, I need an arrow too!!!

Format ---> Cells ----> Font tab

You should see three boxes unchecked; one for superscript, one for subscript, and one for strikethrough.

Check the subscript box.  Unfortunately, you have to keep doing this over and over to make multiple subscripts.  (I don't know of any other way, at least).


Now there is an ALT key code for the reaction arrow (--->) but I cannot find it and definitely do not remember it.  So just open MS Word and look under Insert ----> Symbol.   There should be forward, reverse, and equilibrium arrows available. 

Oh, and it's H₂ + 1/2O₂ ----> H₂O

I made this in MS Word

"Ctrl" + "=" makes the highlighted text subscript.
"Ctrl" +"Shift" + "=" makes the highlighted text superscript.


Also, if you go to the Tools Menu/ And click Customize (depending on how it is configed, you might have to click the little arrow point down at the bottom of the list to see everything)/Commands (tab)
Choose format on the left.
Scroll down on the right until you see superscript and subscript.
Click one and drag them onto the tool bar in the main editor to where you want (i.e. next to the bold, italic, underlined mouse click options).

Then with highlighted text, just click those and it will superscript or subscript.
