Correct way to write amine in molecular name

Hello,

When writing a molecular name involving an amine, do you write the amine as

 ..                                 ..
-N-H      or simply as   -NH2
 |
 H

Does it matter?

Either way would be correct, but if you have my professor and you write NH2 with an electron pair he'll scold you and tell you that your lone pairs only come on Lewis structures! I got a 98 on my last test and one of the points I lost was for that very thing.

There are many stages of presenting structures.Organic chemists use Lewis structures when presenting mechanism of reaction. But correct Lewis structure is always CORRECT (though more laborious). Note - aromatic amines show mesomeric structures.
