im just wondering y is it important to only use a few drops of indicator in titrations. is it because the end point would change or would it be the colour.

Both. Plus in the case of one-color indicator (like phenolphthalein) titration results depend on the indicator concentration.

Most indicators are themselves weak acid/bases, so if their concentration is non-negilgible, they can affect the endpoint of the titration.
