IN dire need of Nomenclature HELP

hey guys , i need help in the lewis structure and the IUPAC name for the following compound.Ive asked around but many people have different views and no one seems to agree. HELP would be greatly appreciated. (Organic chem is kiilin me)  =(

            (CH2)2CH(CH2)3CH(C3H7)CH[CH(CH3)C(CH3)3]CH[CH(CH3)2]CH2CH(CH3)2

 4-hexyl-2,7-methyl-2,3,5-propyloctane

dont know if its right though?

^^ I believe there are some double bonds in there as well, give me some time to write it out and try to figure out the structure and I'll see if I can get back to you with an answer.

Do you have a skeletal formula (line formula)?

yep - you need to use chemdraw or ISIS/draw (both of which can be downloaded for free) and export the structure as a gif or jpeg or png or something - the formula you've drawn is bloody tedious to look at!

Hey....your line formula is really weird.....I think you might have added too many carbons on the left end...by fixing it a bit on that side the name would be: 5-(3,3-dimethylbutan-2-yl)-4-isopropyl-2,8-dimethyl-6-propylnonane

Organic chem is great:) as long as you don't see it as a burden you'll breeze through it!

It would be a lot easier to help you if you made the appropriate numbers subscripts.

Use to make a subscripted number, placing the number between the tags.
