how to get precise measurements?
« on: March 06, 2007, 11:30:24 PM »
Ok i did this lab the other day where we calculated mass volume density and then estimated the uncertainty.  I just need help with this question, you don't need to see any of the results for it.

In a research lab a graduated cylinder is not likely to be a chemist's first choice for making precise, small, volumetric measurments.  Suggest other chemical appartus that would reduce the uncertaintyin measuring liquid volumes.

a dropper, a pipette, quite common... unless you want more specialized instruments?

Use a syringe. It depends on the amount you need to measure - volumetric flask, pipette or burrette.
Tonight I’m going to party like it’s on sale for $19.99!
