Gold extraction
« on: March 14, 2007, 04:19:44 PM »
I have been researching for quite a while.

I know this is a little cheeky but could somebody find me the formula for extracting gold from (refractory) minerals.

The example involving FeAsS

Please...  :'(

Well gold is below hydrogen and carbon in the reactivity series, so you can always you them to extract gold.  As for the industrial method for extracting gold, I would have thought that they would use a cheaper element to displace the gold.

Makes sense...

It's about research into bacterial leaching solutions.

Im using the example of arsenopyrite (FeAsS) and its in an ore with Gold (Au)

Just a little confused...
