Is it possible to liberate soaps from esters by electrical current?

If by "soaps" you mean alkali salts of fatty acids as product of electrohydrolysis process then you should note the further Kolbe electrolysis of carboxylic acid salt to the corresponding alkane:
2RCOO:-Na + ---> R-R + 2CO2  + 2NaOH + H2
But i dont know how this method works with long chain fatty acids for example with stearic salt the product should be C32 alkane...
