What is enthalpy?
« on: April 05, 2007, 01:34:45 AM »
In working through the thermodynamics chapter of my book, there is much talk of enthalpy and the change in enthalpy, but little mention as to what this actually means. Can anyone help me better understand the meaning of the enthalpy of the system, regardless of whether or not the pressure is constant?

You can read about enthalpy here. You can also try entering "enthalpy" into this resource.

I understand that there are pre-existing resources available on the internet, thank you very much. I was simply hoping to get further assistance from a real, live, dynamic human being.
