If both Glucose and 1-hexanol have 6 carbons then why is glucose more soluble in water then 1-hexanl?

Glucose has more hydroxy groups.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Oh, so Glucose is C6H6(OH)6 and 1-hexanol is:C5H12O is this right or am I still not getting it?  Thanks

1-hexanol is:C6H14O. Glucose has 5 OH groups because it prefer cyclic form.

I think Glucose has 5 hydroxy groups
then has more hydrogen bond with H2O
so more soluble in water then 1-hexanol

Problem of solubility of organic compounds is much more complex. You can safely compare solubility only in homologues series of compounds.
