I've never come across lithium complexes. Could you give an example?

Yay for crown ethers.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

Lithium cationĀ  "loves" 4 nitrogen (eg pyridines, different amines, especially chelating ones) or 4 oxygen atoms (eg. tetrahydrofurane) around (with flat or tetrahedral environment)
