safety in ozone + NaNO2

I want to do reaction of Ozone with NaNO2 to generate signlet oxygen, I want to know will it be safe to react to vigorous oxidtant and reductant in aquous media in about 1 Ltr soln.

Since sodium nitrite is an oxidizer, I doubt you'll have any problems.

That shouldn't be a problem, although why so much volume? If you're just interested in seeing singlet oxygen, this experiment from Woelen's site is very nice and uses easily accesible materials:

I've tried it and it works quite well. If the hydrogen peroxide is more dilute, the reaction is much shorter lived and somewhat more violent.
