I am very interested in attempting the complete synthesis of AEROGEL.  Most of my research alludes to the procedure but is not specific enough to actually carry out the appropriate reaction(s). I have the time, resources, material and expertice (not to mention a huge sample collection of AEREOGEL).  PLEASE--Is anyone out there aware of specific instructions/proceedures for the synthesis of AEROGEL which could feasibly be carried out on a small, nonindustrial/bench top scale?  I am not interested in generalities or negative commentary on how or why this procedure cannot be accomplished.  Thank you for your help in advance--Les M. As a citizen scientist I was tempted to try this myself, but reading about it is not enough. I would have to see someone do it. In any case, there seems to be several flavors of aerogel.
