Electro help
« on: August 06, 2007, 01:26:11 PM »
Hello there

I just started 1 week ago as a chemistry teacher in Denmark (EU). I need some help to explain how some molecules dissociate completely while others stay intact (mostly dissolved).
I´ve heard an idea where u to pure water put some current and connect a lightball (dont know if thats the correct word :) ).
In pure water it wont light up.
In acetic acid half light
And water + NaCl full light.

How do I draw this electrical system?

Like this? (signature)

if you connect it like this no light will shine as with salt water it will short-cut

here it is decently well shown how it works :)
