i have this homework for school and i spoke to a guy who is a hi atom physic expert and he  said that this answer was different then mine so i am seeing if anyone knows what one it is, thanks

i thought it was phyiscial but he said it was chemical since all solutions are chemical as long as they are in solution.

and other question was

chemical reactions must obey the law of conversation of ______, which is the main reason why the amounts and formulas of products can be predicted.
a. gravity         b matter.                 c.  energy            d heat

i thought the answer was matter, but he stated that its the conversation of energy, e=mc ^ 2, matter is energy, but matter is not conserved

but reason i thought it was matter was because There is a law called the conservation of mass with regard to chemical reactions

You are right that it is physical.  Making a solution does not change the chemical nature of the species involved.  For example, disolving sugar in water does not change the chemical structure of the sugar or the water.  Also, the solution can be separated by physical means (e.g. boiling off the water until you're left with solid sugar and water vapor).

In general, your physicist friend is right.  However, in chemistry (except for nuclear chemistry), the interconversion between mater and energy is negligible.  Therefore, in chemistry, you will observe a conservation of energy and a conservation of matter.  The conservation of matter allows us to balance chemical reactions.  For example, if you have 2 atoms of carbon in your reactants, you'd better have 2 atoms of carbon in your products.
