Can anyone give me some tips on doing a redox titration of hydroxylamine? I'm putting a sample of unknown quantity of hydroxylamine into a ammonium iron salt solution in sulfuric acid(Ferric Ammonium Sulfate in 15% H2SO4), and boiling it, but how long do I need to boil it for? 5 min? 10min? 15min? I'm also using Ferroin as the indicator, and titrating it with Ceric Ammonium Nitrate. How long should I wait for the end point to last before it changes back to its original color? For example, the solution is a pink/reddish color and when it gets to it's endpoint, it becomes colorless. How long should I wait until it goes back to it's pink/reddish color to know its at the endpoint. 30 seconds? 5 minutes? 10 minutes?? Please *delete me*!! I would love to have a procedure if possible.
