What can i add to a non polar solvent (xylene) to reduce its miscibility with water?
Ok, i bet your thinking just add anhydrous MgSO4 to remove whatever water made it into the xylene, but the problem i am faced with is keeping the xylene out of the water without adding anything to the water. Any ideas?
Is there anything i can do post-salting to remove whatever xylene made it into the water?
