What are the differences between Soxhlet process and Distillation Process?

In the soxhlet process you are extracting a substance from a solid by means of passing a hot solvent through the solid, in distillation you are separating a liquid from another by "boiling" one of them away.

soxhlet is very effective process of extraction in comparision to the distillation.... the solvent is extracted by hot solvent and  collected in certain part however  once certain leve of solvent is extracted it goes back to the solvent reservoir.....the advantage  is that...solvent is evaporated to the extracting substance,,,and the strength of solvent remains 100% no matter how long the extraction process is carried out...
in distillation,the extracted and solvent are mixted together so the solvent strength decreases and extraction process increases
