Another blow to the chemical industry.  It's unclear if this is direct fallout from the Vioxx debacle.

regardless how bad these events paint the pharmatical sector, i believe companies like MSD, GSK, etc will continue to prevail in the 21st century. One unchanged fact through out human civilisation is that we all still fall sick and die. The initial overhead of drug menufacturing is expensive and continue to act as a barrier for many SMEs to venture this on their own.
