Lime production
« on: September 19, 2007, 10:36:28 AM »
Hi, I need some help with my first assignment. The assignment is about designing a kiln to produce lime (CaO) by heating limestone where CO2 evaporates taking into consideration  catalyst, temprature, pressure, and safety. If anyone can help with some sources (online) I'd be grateful coz i couldn't find reliable information.

Hi kimet,

I am only familiar with the basics of Calcium oxide production.  However, there is some interesting information about its production at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quicklime

and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lime_kiln

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Eugene
